Nick began his career whilst at Brunel University where he joined the universities own station. His big break came when he was offered his own slot on Radio Luxembourg where he got to know American chat show host Neil Rogers whom Nick had based his style of broadcasting upon , and latterly on Greater London Radio (GLR) in 1988, where he presented the breakfast slot. However he didnt stay long and soon left. He then moved to Virgin 1215 at the time Britains newest Hit music Station, it was here that he built up a cult following amongst his legions of fans. Here his Talk show was turned into a music based one which finally ended after a long stint in mid 2001 when the Scottish Media Group took over. In 1998 he got his own evening slot on Talk Radio which was successful until Former Sun editor Kelvin McKenzie took the station over and rebranded it Talk Sport, Nick Along with many other presenters were fired. He joined LBC with Carol McGiffen in 1999, and was promptly sacked in 6 Months later- as the programme didn't fit in with the stations demographic. Standing in on Real Radio and Key 103 in 2001, he was offered a more permanent spot in January 2002 on Real Radio originally just in Scotland, but Wales and Yorkshire were a little while later to recieve the show. Nick Left the station on 19th December 2002 to persue other projects. |
